Man Robbed In Portland Cemetery

Detectives in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with any information to come forward after a robbery in Portland.

The incident, in which two men approached a 44-year-old man and then struck him before stealing items from his pockets, happened in Portland Cemetery on Weston Road at 5.55pm on Tuesday 29 November 2011.


The victim, from Portland, was not injured. Cigarettes and a small quantity of cash were stolen.


Detective Constable Pete Lawrence, of Weymouth CID, said:

 “This was an entirely unprovoked attack and it is vital that anyone with any information about the two men responsible contacts me at the earliest possible opportunity.


“Anyone who witnessed this offence should call Dorset Police urgently.”


-One of the offenders is white, aged in his early thirties, around five feet ten inches tall, with a beard. He was wearing a black beanie hat, dark clothing and dirty white trainers.


-The second man is also white, aged in his late twenties and around five feet seven inches tall. He was wearing a black beanie hat, a grey hooded top and dark bottoms. This robber was walking a dog.


- A dog with them was black and medium-sized, with a white blaze on its chest.
