Men In Van Shout At Children

Police are looking for two men who drove up to a group of children in Dorset and shouted at them.

Police in Bridport are appealing for witnesses and information following a suspicious incident where three children were
approached on Sunday 15 May 2011.

The children were playing in a field behind Cherry Tree – a cul-de-sac in the town – at approximately 8pm when they were approached by two men in a silver van who shouted at them.

The children then ran away and informed their parents.

Bridport Sergeant Jon Bleasdale said:

“I really want to stress that this was not an abduction. While the children were approached, they were unharmed.

“However, this was an unusual incident and so we are keen to trace the van and its occupants.

“The van is described as silver with a five digit registration plate possibly beginning with an ‘A’.

“Anyone who saw a van matching this description in the area on Sunday evening should call Dorset Police immediately on 01202 222 222.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 01305 or 01202 22 22 22 quoting incident number 16:183. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone
