More Than 35 Cars Vandalised In Poole

Police are hunting vandals who've slashed the tyres on at least 35 cars parked on seven streets in Poole.

It happened sometime during the early hours of Wednesday 11th January in Victoria Crescent, Alcester Road, Recreation Road, Douglas Road, Library Road and Shillito Road.

Vehicles suffered varying damage from one tyre being slashed, up to all four tyres being slashed.

Police Constable Paul Cleal, of Poole police, said:

“I understand that three white men were seen acting suspiciously in Douglas Road at around 1am on Wednesday morning. These men were heading in the direction of Redlands on Poole Road.

“I would like to speak with anyone who has any information about these three men, and anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in this area, to call me as soon as possible.

“This disruptive and dangerous behaviour will not be tolerated and I am appealing for anyone with any information to contact police urgently.

“Local residents are clearly appalled by this vandalism – it has caused major inconvenience to many motorists as well as an unwanted expense at this time of year.”

Safer Neighbourhood Team officers conducted house-to-house enquiries in the Parkstone and Branksome area yesterday, Wednesday 11 January 2012.

Anyone who witnessed this incident, or anyone who has any information that may assist the investigation, should contact Dorset Police on 101
