Detectives investigating the death of a man in Westbourne have released a 37-year-old man without charge - they'd been questioning him on suspicion of murder.

32-year-old Lithuanian national Jevgenij Pisciuliov was found seriously injured on Saturday 22 September at around 1.15pm in the stairwell of flats on Poole Road in Westbourne.

He was taken to Poole Hospital with head and chest injuries and then transferred to Southampton General Hospital where he later died.

Detective Inspector Marcus Hester, of Dorset Police's Major Crime Team, said:

"We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and I can confirm that a murder investigation has been launched.

"I would like to speak with anyone who saw anything suspicious or unusual in the Poole Road area between 8am on Friday 21 September 2012 and 10.45am on Saturday 22 September 2012."
