Naked Man Found With Serious Injuries

A naked 21-year-old man's been found with facial injuries near the council offices in the Chapelhay area of Weymouth.

He was discovered at around 10.50am on Saturday 2nd July, but it's not yet known how the man came to be injured or undressed.

Detective Constable Simon Austin of Weymouth CID said:

“The injured man is being treated at Dorset County Hospital – he has suffered a broken nose, a cut to his lip, and severe swelling to his head and face.

“The victim was out in Weymouth, in particular in Dusk on The Esplanade, between approximately 1am and 4.30am. At this time he was wearing a black T-shirt, white jeans and black shoes.

“He then meets another man at approximately 4.50am outside of Dusk. This man is described as white, aged between 18 and 25, around five feet eight inches to five feet ten inches tall, of a medium build, with short dark hair. He was wearing a yellow T-shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.”

Detectives understand that the victim and the other man walked through the town via Blockhouse Lane, St Mary Street, Lower Bond Street, St Nicholas Street, St Thomas Street and over the Town Bridge toward the Chapelhay Steps.

DC Austin continued:

“It is not known what happened to the victim and all of his clothes and belongings.

“I am appealing for the man in the yellow T-shirt to come forward and speak with the police. This man may be able to help me with my investigation.

“I would also urge anyone who has any information about this incident, and anyone who saw anything suspicious or unusual in the Chapelhay area during the early hours of Saturday, to contact police as soon as possible.”
