New Forest Burglar Scared Off By Pensioner

A burglar got a bit more than he bargained for when he tried to raid a house in the New Forest.

An 83-year-old woman confronted him with her walking stick when she found him in her home on Hare Lane last weekend (Oct 3^rd).

When she and her daughter tried to grab him, he dived straight through a double-glazed glass door to escape!

DC Sarah Fox said: “Luckily neither of the women at the address was injured during this incident.

“I would like to commend both women for their bravery in trying to stop this man in his tracks but would remind members of the public not to put their own safety at risk. Your life is far more valuable than your possessions.”

A man's up in court next week on a burglary charge.
