Nine people have been taken to hospital after a car crossed over to the wrong side of a busy dual carriageway in Dorset.
It happened on the A35 just west of Winterbourne Abbas on Monday November 1st, at around 13.20pm and involved four cars in total.
Police said: “A red and silver Mitsubishi 4x4 travelling towards Bridport crossed onto the opposite carriageway into the path of three other vehicles, including a Mercedes, Mazda and VW Passat. People trapped in Mercedes and VW had to be cut out by fire crews. The road was blocked in both directions for over 2 hours.”
Out of the nine people taken to hospital, some are said to be seriously injured, although the extent of their injuries isn’t known.
