Part of Weymouth Park Wrecked By Fire

Police in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a fire destroyed a significant area of a country park in Weymouth.

Between 3.45am and 4am on Saturday,10 March 2012, an area of approximately 200 square meters of Lodmoor Country Park was destroyed by fire.
 
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
 
Police Constable Julian Dingle, of Weymouth police, said: “This fire has destroyed an area of approximately 200 square meters ofthe nature reserve.
 
“The area of wildlife that has been burnt consisted mostly of reeds.
 
“Anyone who has any information about this incident should contact Dorset Police immediately.”
