Pedestrian Killed In Wareham Collision

A man's died after being hit by a car just outside Wareham.

At 12.25am this morning, (Monday 16 June 2014), a white Mazda, driven by a woman from Poole, was in a collision with a male pedestrian on the South Causeway.

The pedestrian, a 29-year-old man from Stoborough, died at the scene. His next of kin and the Coroner have been informed.

The road was closed from the bridge at Wareham and at Stoborough to allow for the investigation and was re-opened 9.05am.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and for anyone who was travelling in either direction on the Causeway at the time, to come forward.
