Pensioner Leg Broken In Boscombe Hit&Run

Police in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a fail to stop road traffic collision in the Boscombe area of the town.

The incident happened at around 7.15pm on Tuesday 5 November 2013 on Crabton Close Road, at the junction with Christchurch Road. 

The victim, a 75-year-old Bournemouth woman, was crossing the road when she was in collision with a vehicle. 

The male driver stopped at the scene following the incident and told the victim he would ring an ambulance.. He then got back into his vehicle and drove off. 

Police Constable Sarah Jones, of the Dorset Police Traffic Unit, said: 

"I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact Dorset Police urgently. 

"Unfortunately the victim was unable to get a good look at the offending vehicle, but we believe it to be dark coloured. 

"The driver stopped at the scene immediately after the collision and will be well aware of what took place, and we are very keen to speak with him. I would ask him to do the right thing and contact Dorset Police in confidence."

He is described as:

-white 

-around five-feet ten inches tall

-short dark hair

The victim suffered a broken leg as a result of the collision. 

No arrests have been made.
