Police Officers Attacked Making Arrest In Weymouth

Two police officers been hurt in Weymouth while making an arrest.

It happened on Monday afternoon (4 November) on Newstead Road.

A 50-year-old man from Dorchester has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said:

"During an arrest along Newstead Road in Weymouth at 3.26pm on Monday 4 November 2013 two officers were allegedly assaulted.

"They both received medical attention but did not require hospital treatment.

"A 50-year-old man from Dorchester has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting police officers and is helping officers with their enquiries."
