Poole: Appeal Over Headbutt Attack On Teenager

Police in Poole are asking for help to find a man who headbutted a teenage boy in the town centre.

Officers have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to.
The attack happened at approximately 2.20pm on Sunday 8 June 2014 at the bus station near to the Dolphin Centre.
Police Constable Simon Young, of Poole police, said:

“A 16-year-old boy from Poole stood with a friend waiting for a bus when an unknown man ‘barked’ at him aggressively for no apparent reason. When the victim asked him what he was doing the suspect head-butted him and ran off toward the service road.
“The boy sustained a small cut to his face as a result of the attack.
“Following enquiries I am now able to release a CCTV image of a man we wish to speak with. It is possible that he has information that can assist with the investigation.
“I urge the man pictured – or anyone who recognises him – to contact the police as soon as possible.
“All calls are treated with the strictest confidence.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 8:220. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
