Seven people have been arrested in Poole as part of an investigation into burglary and theft offences.
Today, Monday 3 November 2014, officers carried out warrants at six addresses in the Hamworthy area of the town and arrested seven people on suspicion of conspiracy to steal.
Six men - aged 20, 27, 28, 43 and two aged 22 - and a 41-year-old woman, all from Poole, are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
Today's activity follows an investigation led by the Force's Priority Crime Team as part of Operation Advance.
Detective Inspector Andy Dilworth, of Dorset Police's Priority Crime Team, said:
"As part of our ongoing investigation we have uncovered a number of power tools and are keen to find the owners.
"I would urge anyone in Dorset who has had such items stolen from their sheds, garages or vehicles since September this year and has not reported it to Dorset Police to get in contact by calling 101 quoting incident number 3:49."
"I am urging the public to follow some simple crime prevention steps to help reduce the chances of becoming a victim of crime.
"Ensure valuables, electrical items and tools are left in a locked and secure place and, if possible, remove all items from vehicles overnight.
"I would also urge people to ensure they mark their valuables and tools. Don't make things easy for thieves.
"My final message to the public is - do not be complacent. If you see someone acting suspiciously in your area, please call us on 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress so we can send officers and investigate."
