Man Charged With Murdering Glyn Helliwell

Detectives investigating the death of a Poole chef have charged a man with murder.

21-year-old Jake Brand, of Bournemouth, has been charged with the murder of 42-year-old Glyn Helliwell.

He will appear before Bournemouth Magistrates on Friday, 15th July 2011.

At 12.45am on Wednesday, 6 July 2011, officers received a report that a man had been found seriously injured along Parkwood Road.

The injured man, 42-year-old Glyn Helliwell from Poole, later died at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

An inquest – opened at the coroner’s court in Bournemouth on Thursday, 7 July 2011 – heard evidence that Glyn died as a result of a stab wound.

Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Connolly said:

"I continue to appeal to anybody whatsoever who was in the Parkwood Road area during late Tuesday evening into the early hours of Wednesday, 6 July 2011, to get in touch with the investigation team.

"I would like to stress that any information could prove vital and therefore we need to hear from you regardless of whether you feel you know anything important.
