Residents Reassured After Weymouth Arrest

Police are conducting high visibility patrols in Weymouth after an incident in the town on Friday 12th April.

Police have told Heart that officers attended an address in Portwey Close in Weymouth at approximately 4.45pm on Friday 12 April 2013 and a 32-year-old-man from Weymouth was arrested at the address after suspicious items were found inside the property.

Portwey Close was closed for some time, before being re-opened in the early hours of Saturday 13 April 2013.

Detective Inspector Mark Samuel, of Weymouth CID said: “We would like to thank the public for their patience while road closures were in place. “I would also like to reassure residents that the area is safe and they are not at risk.”

The arrested man remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
