RNLI Rescue Man Off 40ft Yacht in Poole

RNLI crews in Poole have helped rescue a man experiencing severe chest pains while onboard his 40 foot yacht.

The Poole inshore lifeboat was launched saturday (August 20th) evening at half past nine by Portland coastguard to a man who was feeling poorly aboard his 40ft yacht anchored in Studland Bay.

They lifeboat arrived on scene and immediately reassured the ailing man and treated him. After assessing him, the volunteer crew decided that the man needed to go right away to hospital for further treatment, so the inshore lifeboat radioed for the all-weather lifeboat to assist in a medical evacuation.

The all-weather lifeboat arrived on scene and transferred the man onto the lifeboat, where he was treated further and taken immediately to North Haven where an ambulance was standing by. The ambulance took the poorly man to Poole hospital for further treatment. He's now thought to be doing fine.
