Search For Women Who Helped Rape Victim

Detectives investigating the rape of a woman in Ferndown are renewing their appeal for witnesses and information – with officers releasing CCTV image of two women who came to an injured woman’s assistance.

The incident, in which a 26-year-old Ferndown woman sustained severe bruising to her head and face, happened in the vicinity of the Tesco supermarket along Penny’s Walk during the early hours of Sunday 1 January 2012.

Detective Constable Al Marks, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said:

“I understand that two women assisted an injured woman shortly after the incident.

“We are now able to release images of these two women in the hope that they come forward and speak with us. 

“I would like to stress that these two women are not in any sort of trouble – we simply believe that they may have information that will help us with our investigation. 

“Anyone who knows of the identity of the two pictured women should also contact Dorset Police as soon as possible.”

27-year-old Reuben Warren, of Bournemouth, was arrested and charged with rape. He appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 3 January 2012 and has been remanded in custody.
