Seven Arrests After Drug Raids

Police have arrested seven people following drug raids in part of Bournemouth.

The day of action took place on Tuesday 14 May after community concerns and information about criminal and drug-related activity in the Townsend area.

Four addresses  were searched with a quantity of drugs and cash seized.

North Bournemouth Neighbourhood Inspector Mike Claxton said: "We take the concerns of our communities very seriously.

"This day of action sends a strong message that we will take action against drugs offences and prevent, disrupt and detect such criminal behaviour.

"We will continue to work closely with members of the community to keep Townsend safe and proactively deal with information relating to drugs offences and other criminal or anti-social behaviour.

"I would urge members of the public who may have concerns, suspicions or any information about the misuse of drugs to contact Dorset Police on 101, or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111."

Of the seven people arrested -  three women and four men all from Bournemouth - six have been released on police bail while investigations continue and one has been released with no further action.
