Teen Attacked By Man Dressed As Schoolgirl

Police in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after an assault in the town.

The incident, in which a 19-year-old man was punched to the floor , happened along Lower St Edmund Street, near to the Crown Hotel, at around 1am on Saturday, 1 January 2011.

Police Constable Jim Long, of Weymouth police, said:

“The victim, from Weymouth, had been out celebrating New Year’s Eve and was dressed as a schoolgirl at the time of the incident.

“As a result of this violent attack, he sustained extensive damage to his teeth that will require specialist treatment to correct.”

The offender is white, around five feet ten inches tall, aged in his early twenties, with a shaven head. It is thought that he was wearing a grey jumper.

PC Long continued: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this assault and anyone with any information about the man responsible, to contact police urgently.

“The circumstances leading up to the assault are not yet clear and any information – no matter how insignificant you may consider it to be – may help me to find the attacker.

“All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”
