Thieves Steal Lead From School Roof
Police in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following the theft of lead from the roof of a Canford Heath primary school.
The incident, in which unknown offenders stole lead from the roof of Ad Astra First School, happened between 8am on Friday, 6 May and 8am on Saturday, 7 May 2011.
Police Constable Phil Prentice, of Poole police, said: “As a result of the theft and a heavy downpour of rain on Saturday morning, water seeped through the school roof.
“This heartless theft will prove costly to rectify and I am keen to identify those responsible.
“I am appealing for anyone who saw or heard any suspicious or unusual activity in the vicinity of the school during Friday or the early hours of Saturday morning to contact me urgently.”
