Vandals who spread sharp objects across a recreation ground in Ringwood caused a serious risk of injury to toddlers on Saturday.

More than 100 four-inch lengths of barbed wire, sections of saws and shards of glass were found by groundsmen who had to pick up the scraps throughout the morning.

Terry Simpson, the Town Clerk said, “This is nothing more than mindless, malicious vandalism intended to cause injury to users of the area who just happen to be toddlers”.

A reward has now been offered by Ringwood Town Council for anyone who can help the police catch the culprits.
