Tip Reopens After Suspected Arson Attack

A council tip in Christchurch has reopened after a suspected arson attack.

The household recycling centre in Wilverley Road had to temporarily close following a fire in the early hours of Tuesday 6th November.

The fire destroyed a plant vehicle belonging to the site and damaged a skip. The digger was used for compacting the rubbish.

The site reopened on Wednesday afternoon (7th Nov) following clearance of the destroyed digger and burnt skip and investigations by the police and fire service.

Police are investigating how it started.
