Two People Hit By Car In Bournemouth

A 21-year-old woman remains critically ill in hospital after she and a 17-year-old boy were both hit by a car in Bournemouth - police tell us her condition is stable.

It happened as they walked along Charminster Road in Charminster at 0350 on Sunday 18th March.

They were struck by a Ford Focus travelling from Cemetery Junction to Throop.

Police say the woman suffered "serious, life-threatening injuries" . The teenager was also hurt but less seriously.

A 22-year-old man from the Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and bailed until May.

The road was closed for several hours while an investigation was carried out.
