Woman Arrested Over Assault In Club

A woman's been arrested after a reported assault in Weymouth, leaving one man injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after the incident.

Officers say a 50-year-old man sustained a head injury at the 314 Club along Maiden Street at around 3.40am on Sunday, 20 March 2011.

Detective Constable Declan Cummings, of Weymouth CID, said:

“The incident involved a member of staff and a woman.

“As a result of this incident he sustained a cut to his head.

“The circumstances leading up to the alleged assault are not yet clear and any information – no matter how insignificant you may consider it to be – may help me to find out exactly what happened.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed anything unusual at that club to contact police urgently.

“All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”

A 24-year-old woman from Bridport was arrested and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
