Update On Woman Hit By Car In Lyndhurst

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Lyndhurst.

An 80-year-old woman from Lyndhurst is now in a life-threatening condition in hospital following a collision near the junction of Gosport Lane and High Street, on Wednesday. 16th may 2012.

The incident happened at 4.10pm as the woman attempted to cross near the junction and was in collision with a red Ford Ka. 

She sustained serious injuries, which have since become life threatening. She is in a critical but stable condition at Southampton General Hospital. 

The driver of the Ka, a 68-year-old woman from Lyndhurst, was shaken but uninjured. 

The junction of Gosport Lane and High Street was closed until 7.34pm while collision investigators examined the scene.
