Poole RNLI Inshore lifeboat launched at 22:30pm to a report of a person screaming for help in the water, somewhere along Poole Quay.
As the volunteer crew sped to launch the lifeboat more information came through that the person was in the water between the bridges. The Inshore lifeboat arrived on scene and quickly located a woman in the water.
Three crew hauled her into the lifeboat and then returned swiftly back to the lifeboat station where more crew where waiting with blankets to warm the casualty up.
The casualty was immediately taken to the crew room to get checked, an ambulance and paramedics were standing by.
Volunteer helmsman David Riley said:
‘If you are walking home after a night out, please be aware of the water’s edge, especially this time of year, as the temperatures are very cold, some places are very difficult to get to and difficult to get out of. Please take care’.
