RAF Police are holding their annual Dog Trials at RAF Henlow in Bedfordshire today.

These dogs are trained so they can help soldiers in Afghanistan by being able to sniff out explosives, conduct vehicle searches and act as patrol dogs.

A number of dogs on display today are also sent to the Falklands, other overseas areas and are also based with police officers in the UK.

The day features a range of challenging tests designed to reflect on the skills dog handles need on current operations in Afghanistan.

It starts at 11am with a canine Biathlon, followed by crowd control and criminal workout tests.
