An 18 year old man's appeared in court accused of stabbing to death a babysitter who had been looking after her niece and nephew in Hertfordshire over Christmas.
Catherine Wynter, 19, (right) was found dead at her sister's house in Beech Drive, Borehamwood the morning after Boxing Day 2011.
She had stayed the previous night at the house while she looked after the three and four year old children and had last been heard from at 7.30pm on Boxing Day.
Tony Bushby from Digswell Close in Borehamwood was charged by Hertfordshire's police with murder on the evening of Friday 30 December 2011 and appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on New Year's Eve.
He was remanded in custody, and is due to appear back in court in St Albans on Wednesday 4 January 2012.
As part of their investigation, police are continuing to look for a black bin bag.
Detective Inspector Carl Foster from the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit said "Whilst a charge has been made, a team of detectives continue to work on the case.
"As part of our on-going investigations extensive searches by specialist officers have been carried out in the area surrounding Leeming Road and Gateshead Road to locate a black bin bag. It is believed there are clothes in this bag which we are keen to trace.
"I would like to appeal to people in Borehamwood for help in tracing this bin bag. If you have seen a bag in the area which you have found to be in an unusual place or believe there is something suspicious about it please call Herts Police on 101. Or if you do not feel comfortable calling police, please call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
