The Arriva bus company has told passengers in the Bury Park area of Luton it has suspended all bus services for now.

The firm says it's out of respect" for the family of the little girl who died on Friday after a fatal collision with one of it's vehicles.

The company's area MD Paul Adcock said: "Our deepest condolences go to the family of the young girl at this very sad time and our thoughts are with all her family, friends and the whole community at this tragic loss.

Our staff continue to support the Police as part of their investigations in to the cause of this tragic accident and we are assisting with their enquiries. "

At this time, all bus services through Bury Park are suspended as mark of respect to the family and the community.  We hope normal service can resume early in the week and we will advise customers as soon as we feel it is appropriate to return bus services to the area."

The Arriva services affected are 5, 31, 27, 31 and 38 and they will be using either Dallow Road or Hatters Way during the suspension.

Arriva have apologised for any disruption to peoples journeys as a result of the diversions.
