Bedfordshire Police have released an “e-fit” picture of a man believed to have been involved in an incident in Luton, on the evening of Thursday 28 January 2011.

The e-fit has been put together following information from a number of witnesses.

The man is believed to have been near to the Luton property, believed to belong to one of the members of the English Defence League Kevin Carroll, at 10.42pm on Friday.

He apparently threw something against the window of a house in the street and was seen with what appeared to be a shotgun. No shots were fired and no one was injured.

Police made an immediate search of the area but did not locate the offender.

Inspector Dave Alexander, investigating said: “We are keen to speak to this man or anyone who recognises him, or saw anything else suspicious that evening. We are still investigating what happened that evening and hope someone recognises this picture.”

Anyone with information can contact Bedfordshire Police in confidence on 01234 841212, text to 07786 200011 or call Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111

The incident comes just over a week before the EDL plan a controversial demonstration themselves in Luton, which takes place on February 5th. Thousands of their supporters are expected. The group Unite Against Fascism have planned a counter demonstration at the same time.
