A boxing match with a bit of a difference is taking place tonight.

Bedfordshire police, as well as Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, are holding a charity boxing match to raise money for Help for Heroes.

The competition is being held at Liquid and Envy Club in Luton this evening (Saturday May 21st).

Detective Superintendent Ryan Brammer, from Bedfordshire Police, is captaining his team.

He’s been telling Heart:

“There will be 30 people entering the competition flying the flag for their own organisations but our aim is the same and that is to raise as much money as possible for their worthwhile charity.

“Any help and support the public can give will be greatly appreciated.”

The charity Help for Heroes is a force adapted charity and the night is being organised by Lee Brown Events.

Lee Brown has been telling Heart:

“This spring I am holding a Police Vs Fire Service boxing event in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Suffolk, North East London and South West London all raising money for the charity Help for Heroes.

“This year I am aiming to raise £100,000 and the money will be heading towards the new building under construction in Colchester that is a one stop support housing project that rehabilitates, re-educates and helps to bring the war veterans back safely into our society.”
