Luton Council is supporting the national Fly the Flag for our Armed Forces Day on Monday, 21 June, an annual event in honour of Britain’s Armed Forces past and present.

The Ministry of Defence initiative, supported by local authorities, businesses and homes across the country, will take the form of a flag-raising ceremony at Luton Town Hall forecourt on Monday 21 June at 10.30am.

Members of the public are welcome to join the short ceremony led by the Deputy Mayor of Luton, Cllr Mohammed Farooq, along with Standard Bearers from service associations and civic guests.

Cllr Mohammed Farooq said: "I am very proud to take part in this ceremony. This is our chance to honour, support and thank the men and women of Britain’s Armed Forces who risk their lives to keep the rest of us safe. They are a force for good, standing up for our interests at home and abroad."

The special Armed Forces Day Flag will be flying until Monday, 28th June.
