A 27 year old man from Luton has been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a section 5 firearm.

He was arrested by detectives from the Operation Boson team at an address in Seaford Close.

The man is being questioned in connection two firearms which were recovered by the team in December 2013.

During a search of the property 25 rounds of .22 calibre ammunition was recovered together with a device which is thought to have been used to manufacture the bullets.

Detective Sergeant Duncan Young, of the Operation Boson Team, based at Luton Police Station, said:

“The force’s commitment to cracking down on those who commit firearms related offences remains a priority. If anyone has information about those who commit these offences they can speak with officers confidentially and help protect our communities.”
