Man With Knife Holds up Co-op

Police in Luton are hunting a robber who held up a Co-op store on Wednesday night at knifepoint.

He threatened the cashier at the store in Birdsfoot Lane, Luton at approximately 9.20pm, forcing him to open the till.

The robber took a large amount of cash and left.

He is described as a white man in his 40's with an athletic build, approximately 6' tall, wearing a distinctive camouflage jacket.

PC Sophie McGrath, is keen to trace any who can help identify the offender.

She said: "This crime happened during the evening in a busy area of the town so it is possible that members of the public may have seen this man arriving or leaving the store. I would appeal to these people or anyone who can help identify this man from the description given to come forward and speak to the police, in confidence."
