Police in Luton are appealing for information from the public after a 23 year old man was robbed at knife point in a lift.

The incident happened in a lift within Heswell Court on Bailey Street between 3.15pm to 3.35pm on Saturday 9th March when the victim was on his way to visit friends. A man got into the lift with him and demanded the victim hand over his mobile telephones, cash, wallet and bank cards.

The offender is described as a black man with a very dark complexion, 6’5” tall, 26 to 30 years old, with a medium build and a moustache wearing a grey jacket and a grey cap.

The officer in charge of this investigation, Detective Constable Jabbar Khan, is keen to trace anyone who saw a man matching this description in the area on Saturday afternoon.

DC Khan said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim but luckily he was unhurt during his ordeal. It is possible that this man was loitering in the area of the flats or along the road before committing this crime and pedestrians together with motorists may be able to help identify him.”
