A man Has suffered a large gash on his neck and a stab wound to his stomach after being attacked while putting screenwash in his car in Luton.

The 26 year old man was outside his home in Brooms Road at about 12.30 on Monday lunchtime when he was approached by a man who struck up a conversation.

A few seconds later, a second man appeared armed with a knife and stabbed him in the neck and in the stomach.

The two ran off, with the victim managing to raise help by running down Brooms Road and round the corner into a shop at Hart Lane. Other witnesses called emergency services and the victim, a married father of one, was taken to hospital by ambulance. After treatment he was allowed to go home the same day.

Detectives from Luton are now investigating the case and would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened at Brooms Road.  The offenders are two Asian men in their early twenties.

"The victim and the man who stabbed him do know each other, but as yet there is no clear motive for the attack," said Det Con Duncan Crighton. "We are currently searching for this man, but in the meantime, we are very keen to hear from any independent witnesses who were in the Brooms Road area at the time of the offence - or anyone with other information that could help with the investigation."
