Police Hurt In Bus Crash

Two police officers have had to be cut out of their patrol car after it crashed with a bus in Luton.

Bedfordshire Police say the officers were making routine inquiries when the crash happened on Axe Close, Luton, Bedfordshire at 3.30pm on Monday 9 January 2012.  The officer driving and their passenger were taken to hospital suffering arm injuries and back pain.

A number of the passengers on the bus suffered cuts and bruises and needed first aid.

Bedfordshire and Luton's Fire Service were called to the scene to remove the car's roof.

Bedfordshire Police are asking for people who saw the crash to get in contact with them by calling the non-emergency number 101.
