A police officer's been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after two men died after being hit by a police car on an emergency call.
PC Kerry Smith, 24, of Bedfordshire Police is accused of causing the death of two men Reda Lecheheb and Sidali Melal in Leagrave Road, Luton on June 4 2010.
The police car went out of control and hit the two men who were on their way home from work shortly before midnight.
PC Kelly, who was based at Luton Police Station at the time, has been summonsed to appear before St Albans Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 9 February 2011.
