Six Arrests In Luton Dawn Raids

Six people were arrested this morning (Aug 6) in Luton as part of the police crackdown on guns and drugs.

The dawn raids at Hill Top Court, Downs Road, began during the early hours.

The six were all arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs; one was also arrested on suspicion of two robberies.

Police also seized a replica handgun, a stun-gun, CS gas and a further firearm with ammunition.

The men, aged 34, 29, 25, 21, 18 and 17, are all now being questioned by detectives investigating gun crime in the town.

Detective Inspector Sandra Evans, said: "We appreciate the community engagement and support we have received and we will continue to listen and respond to community concerns.

"All information given to the police is used and kept confidentially, so if anyone has information that can help in the fight against those who are involved in gun crime, I would encourage them to speak to officers now."
