Luton: Trent Road Death Victim Named

20 November 2013, 09:42

Detectives from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit (MCU) have today named the woman who was killed in Trent Road, Luton, yesterday afternoon (Monday 18th).

Mary Evans – who was known as May and had only recently changed her surname from Olloman – died in Trent Road just after 3pm on Monday afternoon.

Mrs Evans, 70, who lived in Liddle Close, Luton, had only re-married six weeks ago.

Family Liaison Officers continue to support Mrs Evans family at this time and Detective Chief Inspector Jonathan Hutchinson of the MCU, is keen to trace anyone who may have information relating to this enquiry.

DCI Hutchinson told Heart: "You may have been walking past just before or after the incident, or saw something or someone that was unusual, as you drove or walked along Trent Road. You may have already dismissed this information as insignificant or thought that the arrest of a person made it less important to us. Please don’t assume that someone else has told us, or that we already know. Please come forward if you were in the area so that we have the fullest picture possible to help us complete this enquiry."

Anyone with information relating to this investigation is urged to contact officers from the MCU, in confidence on Bedfordshire Police on 101, or text information on 07786 200011.

Alternatively you can contact the independent crime fighting charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
