Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a woman suffered serious bruising when she was assaulted by three men in Stevenage Town Centre.

The attack happened near to The British Heart Foundation and Primark in Queensway, at 11am on Monday, May 16.

The victim, a woman in her 30s from Stevenage, became engaged in a conversation with three men. When the woman tried to leave they punched and kicked her.

PC Andy Scott said: "This incident occurred at a busy time to the day in the town centre and we believe there were numerous members of the public around at the time, although nobody reported this to police.

"I would ask anyone who saw this assault to contact me as soon as possible. The victim sustained serious bruising to her face and body and we are very keen to establish who these men are."
