A woman was grabbed by a man who got into her car and drove off in Luton.

She was stepping out of her silver Vauxhall Zafira to go to the dentist in Marsh Road on Tuesday June 14th when the man seized her by the shoulders.

He pushed her to one side, got into the car and drove off towards McDonalds.

Beds police need the public's help to trace the whereabouts of the vehicle - registration number KD03 DUA and also are urging the public to come forward to help identify the person responsible.

The man is described as a white man, between 19 to 20 years of age, with a medium build and light short hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top and dark trousers.

Detective Constable Tom Stean, of the South Bedfordshire Robbery Squad, would like to urge anyone who has seen the car or anyone who has information about the offender to speak to the police.

DC Stean has been telling Heart: "We know there was a funeral taking place close to where this incident happened and some of the mourners may have noticed a man matching this description loitering in the area prior to him taking the car. These people may have vital information that could help identify the person responsible for this crime and I would ask them to contact the police.

"I would also appeal to residents to I would also appeal to residents to help us locate the car which has yet to be recovered. It may well have been abandoned in the area or further afield so I would urge residents to look along their road for a vehicle with the registration number KD03 DUA or a Vauxhall Zafira which does not belong to any of their neighbours."
