Bike Some Noise East Anglia

Bike Some Noise takes place on Thursday 9th October.

As part of this amazing event, people from around our network of radio stations will be cycling from Lands End to John O Groats on 'static' cycles to help raise money for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK and here in East Anglia.

Our 'Local Champion' who'll will be cycling for us on the day is...

Richard Ellis

He supports the work of Ormiston Families
Works as a Purchasing Manager for an Executive Office Furniture Manufacturer.

How prepared are you for the Bike Some Noise Challenge?
I think I'm in pretty good shape as I cycle for fitness and fun.
The family also goes out on local country (easy) bike routes at the weekend.

How did you become involved in the charity?
My wife works for them so I started to hear the sad and
touching stories about the kids she is trying to help.

Why do you think Heart listeners should support the charity?
Because the charity gives a voice to children who can't be heard.
These are children who have lost their way and fallen on bad times.
They are confused and lonely sometimes, maybe a parent is in prison,
or they are in foster care or have mental issues.

How does the charity help these children?
It listens. It tries to understand. If offers advice, support and
mentoring to get them on the right path. I have 3 kids who
are 6, 10 and 21 so I know just what a frightening world
it is out there these days. They need our help.

How many miles of the Challenge do you think you'll do?
Hopefully 10-15 miles per half hour.
Maybe more if the adrenalin of the moment kicks in.

What are you looking forward to most on the day?
The day – 9th October – will my 44th birthday, so this one
will an absolutely unique, never-to-be-repeated occasion.
Joining in such a huge day and maybe bumping into the odd celebrity, too!

Who is your favourite Heart presenter?
I'd have to say Emma Bunton.

We will be following Peter's progress during Heart Drivetime with Noel on Thursday 9th October from 6am.
