Head Injuries After Yarmouth Assault

Two people have been arrested over an assault in Great Yarmouth that has left a man with serious head injuries.

Police were called to an address on Northgate Street at around 9.30pm yesterday.

A man, who is in his 50s, was then taken to the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston. A seal has been put in place at the address and at the nearby alley so officers can invesitagate.

A 28 year-old man and 27 year-old woman have been arrested and are currently being questioned at the Great Yarmouth PIC.

Detective Sergeant Mark Joyce of Great Yarmouth CID, said: "The victim has received serious head injuries as well as a number of broken bones. 
 
Our investigation is at an early stage however, we do not think this was a random incident as we have reason to believe all parties are known to each other. 
 
We would however like to hear from anyone who believes they may have seen or heard anything in the area of Northgate Street (just before) around 9.30pm."
