Heart has been hearing how a woman from Norfolk is on stand by to go out to Japan after the country was hit by it's strongest ever earth quake.

Helen Lambard, from near Aylsham in Norfolk, is a volunteer for the International Rescue Corp. and has helped out on natural disasters such as the Pakistan and Turkey earthquakes.

Helen says the first she heard of the disaster in Japan was at 7am this morning when she was asked by text message if she would be available to help the country should the search and rescue team be needed. She understands the offer was made to the country but they have received no reply.
