Man Arrested Over City Crash

A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a woman was hit by a car in Norwich.

The woman, in her 40s, was hit by a Renault Clio on Thursday (14 May) near to the roundabout on Barack Street just before 3pm.

She was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with a broken pelvis, fractures to her neck, a broken knee. She has since been transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge for treatment.

A man arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving has been questioned by police and released on bail until 2 July while enquiries continue.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the pedestrian or the manner of driving of the vehicle prior to the incident is urged to contact PC Colin Savage at the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
