Martlesham: Man Charged Over "Suspicious" Death

A man's been charged with the murder of a woman found dead by police in Martlesham Heath.

Police were called by a member of the public living in Lark Rise at approximately 8.55pm on Friday with a report that there were concerns for a person living nearby whose family weren’t able to get a response from the house.

Police officers attended the address and found the body of 39-year-old Jane Bartholomew, she had substantial head injuries.

Last night (Saturday 14th June) police charged Scott Ellis from Tunstall Green, near Woodbridge, with murder.

The 42-year-old will remain in custody at the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre and is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Monday.
