An inquest's heard that a swimmer who drowned off the coast of Norfolk over the weekend, was on holiday here visiting his son.

52 year old Leszek Puchala who lived in Poland, got caught in a rip tide at Sea Palling beach on Saturday.

His son Sebastian identified his father's body to police at the beach, after he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Norfolk Police have issued safety advice in light of the tragedy.

They say that if you're caught in a rip current, swimmers are advised not to fight it, and to swim with the current until you are free of it and then return to shore.

If you can't escape, float or tread water, and if you need help, call or wave for assistance.
