Early tests have found a 7-year-old girl who was pulled unconscious from a swimming pool near Beccles died from drowning.
Police investigating the circumstances of the death of a seven-year-old girl in Burgh St Peter can confirm the preliminary findings of the Home Office post mortem carried out on Friday 6th May.
The provisional cause of death has been established as drowning and further tests are being carried out to obtain a definitive cause of death.
Officers continue to work with South Norfolk District Council in respect of health and safety matters to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident at a swimming pool at Waveney River Centre, near Beccles, on Sunday 1st May.
The girl has not yet been named by police.
