Possibly the most recognisable Irish faces on the planet after Bono, Westlife are the second act to announce a date at the East Midlands’ newest concert venue, following the X Factor finalists on Friday 11th June.
Mansfield Town Chairman Andrew Perry said: “We are expecting a big demand for tickets so I would encourage everyone to book their tickets early to avoid missing out.
“As a Town, Mansfield has never seen anything like this before. It’s fantastic to be able to entice an act of Westlife’s stature.
“It’s also a great boost to the economy. The town centre will be a hive of activity thanks to these events which will benefit the local business community and raise the profile of the town as a whole.
“This will certainly be a summer to remember for the town of Mansfield with a once in a lifetime opportunity to see one of the most successful pop groups in history on our doorstep.”
Mansfield’s Mayor Tony Egginton said: “This is fantastic news for the Town. It will be as good for Mansfield as when Rebecca Adlington brought home two Olympic gold medals.
“I launched the idea of an arena in Mansfield and recommended that Field Mill should be the stage to host such events. Hopefully the people of Mansfield will get behind it.”
No pop group can compare to Westlife’s extraordinary success. In their 12 years at the top, they have sold over 43 million records globally.
In the UK alone they have scored nine multi-platinum albums and a record breaking 14 No.1 hits, behind only Elvis and The Beatles. Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan, saw their latest album ‘Where We Are’ reach number two in the UK Albums chart!
A total of 15,000 tickets are now on sale for this massive outdoor summer concert priced between £36 - 45 per ticket.
